About Me

I have loved photography for as long as I knew what a camera could do. My first camera was one of those plastic 110 roll film cameras that my parents received when they bought a new car. I remember it was a box-like thing that resembled a cube five inches on each side. Not knowing exactly what the thing could do, I attended a Junior High School track meet and took a bunch of pictures. I was hooked when I found that the camera froze one of the pole vaulters going over the bar.

Since then I graduated to a Kodak Instamatic that went all over the Rocky Mountains and Cascades during backpacking trips. Lots of beautiful areas that suffered from the renditions in the little camera. Finally bought my first SLR, a Canon A1, in 1982. I was hooked. My family, who used to beg me to stop for restroom breaks, were suddenly having to stop while “Dad” took pictures of all sorts of odd things.

I finally broke into digital photography in 2005 with the purchase of my Canon EOS 5D. Most of the photographs on this site were taken with this camera. I love it! I also seriously started taking people pictures. I hope you like what you see.
